Description:
Serial #28189, .32 Caliber teat-fire black powder, 3 ¼ inch barrel with a very fine bore with strong rifling. This is the Moore's Patent National Firearms company 6 shot revolver manufactured toward the end of the 1864 to 1870 production period. One of the more successful companies to compete with the Rollin White – Smith & Wesson controlled patent of bored through cylinders. Marked “National Firearms Co.. Brooklyn. N.Y." on top of the barrel the brass framed revolver has hand engraving and is equipped with the later Hooked Extractor mounted on the right side of the frame. The gun is in very fine plus condition with the cylinder retaining about 80-85% of the original high polish blue finish with the barrel showing perhaps 35-40% fading to a mix of grey/brown patina. The brass frame has one protected areas on the left side showing the original bright silver plated finish. The original walnut grips are solid with wear on the high edges and light handling marks. It functions properly with a tight lock up and crisp trigger and hammer. The ejector mechanism functions properly. Antique
