Description:
U.S. Springfield Model 1896 Krag-Jorgensen Short Rifle in .30-40 Krag. SN #50689. This ANTIQUE was mfg. in 1897. LOP 13". 23" Barrel with an EXCELLENT Bright Bore with STRONG RIFLING. Both the Blued Metal and Walnut Stock and Forend have been FULLY RESTORED by SHOOTER'S EXCHANGE and LOOK GREAT. Serrated metal buttplate with storage compartment. Model 1896 did away with the cleaning rod under the barrel and replaced it with 3 sections of cleaning rods in the stock (cleaning rods not included). Bayonet Lug. Magazine Cutoff. No visable Cartouhes other than "P" Proof Mark. Model 1901 Front Sight Cover. Rear Sight is a Model 1884 Sight on top of a Model 1901 Type 3 Base. Base has a "B" (Battle Range) at 375 yards so that a man sized target should be hit anywhere from 100-550 yards. There was a crack on top of the forend that has been PROFESSIONALLY REPAIRED.
