NSN, .52 caliber, 21"" round barrel, finish is a smooth brown patina. Breech is marked US/S.NORTH/MIDL./CONN/1847. Wood is very good with cartouches visible. Traces of case coloring are noted on the hammer. Great looking Mexican American War era Carbine
