Description:
This is an Antique "Kentucky Long Rifle" Trade Rifle. Rifle has a beautiful, deluxe maple tiger wood with original wooden ramrod. Still has the original Percussion lock with single set trigger. Chief's Medallion seen on top of butt stock-no chips and completely intact mother of pearl. The lock plate on the right is marked “JOSEPH GOLCHER” in banner, brass trigger guard, butt plate, and detailed engravings/inlays. Heavy, full length octagonal barrel. Rifles of this caliber were usually custom made for chief leaders.This is a rare and top-notch example of a full length, percussion style Antique Trade Rifle.
Rifle was acquired from a Midwestern elderly couple that had recently relocated to Texas. The rifle had been with the family for quite some time and the lengthy history behind it was a tale the Couple promised to share with me another day over a meal.
