This is an incredibly rare LC Smith .410 shotgun. Only three of these were produced in this specific configuration. This is the only known example still remaining and it is certainly one of the finest .410 Ideal grades you will find anywhere. Houchins estimates that only 220 Ideal grades were ever produced and 126 .410s were produced after 1946. The shotgun documentation from both the Buffalo Bill Cody museum and a Marlin Firearms factory letter both verify this shotgun.
The rare configuration is the FWS configuration. 28-inch barrels, Single Trigger, Beavertail forend, and Single sighting plane. Matching beavertail ejector forend has the usual J-spring The Buttstock on nicely stump figured American Walnut measures 13 5/8ths. Muzzles right and left are .408 Improved cyl. DAH 2 5/16ths'', DAC 1 9/16ths, LOP 13 5/8ths.
