***SOLD*** Beautiful WWII Remington Rand 1911A1Pistol, U.S Property, 45 auto! This pistol was made in 1945, and is one of the last pistols to be produced before the government shut down the 1911A1 production (Last pistol manufactured by Remington Rand was sn 2465139, according to Charles Clawson!). This one features the original parkerized finish and all period correct parts, including the correct magazine manufactured by General Shaver Division or Remington Rand, Bridgeport Conn (see "G" marked on lip). Interestingly enough, somebody inscribed "C.B" on bottom of magazine, perhaps soldier who pistol was issued to.... ( We are all about originality and uniqueness on these WWII pistols, and we find this a fascinating fact about this particular pistol). It has the correct High Standard barrel, which has a very good bore! All correct markings throughout the gun: "NO" before serial number (third type used towards end of production; Ordnance "crossed cannon"; "P" proof marks on barrel lug, receiver, and slide; and "FJA" Inspector mark (Frank J. Atwood, Col.). It also has the correct grooved slide stop, and mainspring housing (8 ribs). Correct Grips made by Keyes, in great condition!
This pistol is in outstanding condition, and it operates as it should. Crisp trigger break and tight slide!
