Built on the same N frame as the famous Dirty Harry .44 mag the Smith & Wesson Model 27-2 fires the slightly less powerful, but still plenty potent- .357 Magnum round. Th?is Model 27 features ½” wide target hammer and trigger?, both case colored, ?oversized target grips with silver medallions, a partridge front sight and adjustable rear. The gun, serial number N733164, built in 1980 retains 98% of its factory finish. The cylinder shows a fine drag line and there is slight holster wear at the muzzle, the chambers are counterbored. The 6” pinned barrel has a mirror bore and a solid rib, the? top strap is milled with ten rows of checkering that provide an excellent distortion free sighting plain. The walnut grips are in excellent shape with a few handling marks on the heel, the factory varnish is original and emphasizes some rich grain. The revolver is fitted with a short throw hammer- Cocking the hammer on this gun is a satisfying combination of sound and mechanical perfection leading to a SA trigger break of 2.5lb, DA is likewise smooth at 10lb. The wide target trigger making accurate pressure control easy. The big N frame makes this gun a joy to shot with either .357 magnum or .38 special rounds.
