Shipping is actual cost with a minimum of $30.00 for pistols and $50.00 for rifles/shotguns to ship to most of the 48 contiguous states. Shipping to Alaska may require an extra fee. Description:
The CZ 455 Varmint Thumbhole was designed to provide the shooter with a rifle perfectly suited for dealing with small varmints with the necessary accuracy and control to hit such small targets at respectable distances. The rifle featuring a 20.5″ heavy barrel without open sights, but with a dovetail groove for mounting a scope. The Varming is usually chambered in four calibers: 17 Mach 2, 17 HMR, .22 LR, and .22 WMR (.22 Magnum). This one is chambered for the classic .22LR. It uses a detachable 5-round box magazine; however, 10-round magazines have also been made for the 455. The reason for using a thumbhole stock is the thumbhole grip can improve a shooter’s precision by aiding lateral control during trigger squeeze. This is very important when dealing with an animal the size of a squirrel. The stock is made by Boyds, a company famous for their aftermarket stocks. They operate out of Mitchell, South Dakota. The barrel has a diameter of 0.870 inches. This should provide a high degree of inherent accuracy for the rifle, though as always, the shooter must still do their part. The rifle here is previously owned but is in practically new condition. The bolt feels like it has not been operated all that much. Trigger pull is clean and light. The stock fulfills its intended function extremely well and feels natural when put to the shoulder while utilizing the cheek rest. The 455 Varmint is an excellent rifle and with a good scope it should be the perfect squirrel gun. It comes with its original box.
