Using the .410 Barrel requires single-shot operation of the firearm. As the M99's internal rotary magazine would/will not handle the bulky .410 shell. Once the .410 Barrel was screwed into the frame, the rifles original forearm was held in place with the slidinq/adiustable barrel screw- bolt. The screw-bolt applied clamping pressure to the forearm tip. Forearm lengths varied, thus small slits were made into the barrel to custom fit. The Barrel has the Savage Markings. These barrels were offered in 22" & 24" lengths and Are almost Impossible to find! This Barrel is the 22" version and is Excellent Condition- Inside & Out!
