Payment Types Accepted: Zelle, money orders or checks with cleared funds Description: This is a smalll cased ambrotype portrait of a young Civil War period lady. It is,in pristine condition. Her image is complete and unblemished, as is the case it resides in. That case is a 2 inch by 2 inch version of Littlefield Parsons & Co. "Union Case", marked under the portrait with the patent dates of 1856 & 1857. Inside there is a velvet offset lining with center flower motiff, and gilt metal surrounding the portrait.. The case also features fully intact and operational hinges and metal snap closure. It is reasonable to presume that the young lady went to the effort and expense in order to send off her husband (or her intended) with something to remember her by, when he marched off to war. A particularly nice item to use (as I did for many years) as a living history impression piece. My price is $225, a price which includes the cost of shipping by USPS priority mail to an address within the continental USA. Sorry, no credit cards or Pay Pal. Payment by USPS money or by personal check once it clears for funds.. SOLD |
