CASED BELGIAN FN BROWNING GRADE III "FIGHTING COCKS" 20 GAUGE TWO BARREL SUPERPOSED SHOTGUN, CIRCA 1959. Made in Belgium. Both sets of barrels numbered to gun with "/1" and "/2" under serial numbers. 28" blued vent rib barrels choked Mod & Full and 26" blue vent rib barrels choked "skeet/skeet". Also both barrels are stamped 'Special Steel-20 ga-shells 2 3/4" and 3". French grey frame factory engraved with game scene and floral scroll motifs and signed "VANLAAR" by Browning factory lady Master engraver Lea VanLaar in tiny blovk letters on the eflt side at the bottom right of "Fighting Cocks" scene. VanLaar was on of the finest engravers for Browning and the famous "Fighting Cocks" scene of the early post WW2 era considering her masterpiece. Checkerd walnut pistol grip stock (14 1/2" pull over leather covered pad, 1 1/2" and 2 1/2" drop). Matching forend checkering to both forends. Wood with all the original finish and only minor tiny use checks. Working order and extra nice, near mint bores. Modest use from local family who has not used it in 50 plus years. Early style Browning case with purple/royal blue interior correct.
