The Type 26 revolver was a Japanese revolver developed in 1893, which is where the model ‚‚Type 26‚‚ comes from, as 1893 translates to 26 in the Japanese Imperial Calendar. This revolver is very similar to the Webley design of revolver, which were used by British Forces for several decades and through both World Wars. There were only about 60,000 Japanese Type 26 revolvers made and this one is a 23,524 serial number, produced at the Tokyo Arsenal plant, making it an earlier production model. This handgun is in excellent shape considering the age is most likely well over 100 years. This model saw service during the Russo-Japanese War, WWI, and WWII, but were being phased out during WWII as they were being replaced by the semi automatic Nambu series of guns.
