About Us: I am a retiree with a collection of nice firearms accumulated over a period of 15-20 years. Increasingly, I am aware that I can't take them with me, so have decided to sell them over the coming months. My description of each weapon will be as accurate as I can make it, and I will attempt to show any defects in photos. I will not sell a firearm that is functionally defective in any way. If you have questions, I look forward to your call or email. Description: .... S O L D !....This particular rifle is an excellent example of a war time production Mosin-Nagant in excellent condition. It retains it's war time stock with the fold down escutcheon and a "split stock". Many if not most Nagants have been re-numbered with the original serial numbers lined out and a new one either stamped or engraved. This Negant has somehow retained it's original numbers and has matching serial numbers throughout with no line-outs. The bore is shiny with strong rifling. A cleaning/tool kit and bayonet is included. The Russians originally applied a tinted shellac finish to these rifles which was not only ugly over time but also not very protective. The tint was necessary because most stocks were made of White Birch, so for uniformity the tint was added to the shellac to create a dark redish brown color. I have removed the original shellac and stained the stock with a combination of water and oil based stains to match the original color. I then hand rubed the stock with a coat or two of highly protective Hope's 100% pure tung oil. The new owner pays $70.00 for insured three day shipping anywhere in the lower 48. FFL is required.
