Description:
CLASSIC 1893 OCTAGON RIFLE IN .30-30 CALIBER, #258XXX, MADE 1903. A good example of a working rifle that was used, but well maintained. The receiver is a mottled gray on the right side with more gray on the left side with good blue on the loading gate, screw heads are excellent. The barrel shows even aged and lightly thinning blue with excellent markings. The mag tube is silvered. The stock and forend show only normal light handling with very tight wood to metal fit. Fitted with a Lyman tang sight, small folding single leaf Lyman rear barrel sight and blade front sight. The action is crisp with strong springs and secure half-cock safety notch. The bore is excellent with sharp rifling, no pitting, just a little dark. In all a fine 120 year old octagon Marlin 1893.
