VERY FINE CONDITION SPECIAL ORDER 1894 HALF OCTAGON RIFLE WITH FULL MAGAZINE, CLASSIC .30WCF CALIBER, #155XXX, MADE 1902. This is actually TWO special order features because Winchester ordinarily put half magazines on half octagon rifles unless specifically requested full magazine tube by the customer. This was rarely the case and almost all half octagon rifles have matching half magazines. This fine rifle retains nice bright blue on the receiver sides with light scattered wear and edge wear. The receiver top/bolt along with the loading gate show fine blue. There is still some nice light case color on the lever sides and hammer. The barrel and mag tube show fine, even blue with only some minor age and thinning. The barrel is fitted with a three leaf folding express rear sight (all leaves intact) and a Lyman "Jack" sight which is a half mood with ivory bead along with a Lyman tang sight (NO extra holes hidden beneath). As was typical of special order Winchesters at this time, it has a little better than standard walnut in the butt stock. The stock and forend show only light handling with tight wood to metal fit. The bore is bright and excellent and the action is tight with strong springs and solid half cock safety notch. In all a really attractive and rare 120 year old 1894.
