Description:
A Very Early And rare First Type Cochran Percussion Turret Revolver With Engraved German Silver Grips In Fine And Untouched Condition. Serial #9, all matching numbers. All original & complete. It is in .36 caliber, and has a 7 shot turret. Less than 150 were made in the 1830's by "C.B. Allen, Springfield, Mass". The Revolver has fine untouched metal with very crisp markings and edges. It is clearly marked on the top of the frame: "COCHRAN'S PATENT & C.B. ALLEN/SPRINGFIELD/MASS". The barrel, frame, and turret all have a beautiful mix of original brown finish turning to a natural chocolate brown patina in areas. The fine german silver grips are factory engraved on both sides with a wonderful untouched look to them. All screws are original. The revolver has a good bore and action. These early and unusual revolvers are recognized by collectors as one of the distinct oddities in American Arms Development. This Is A Wonderful Example Of A Very Rare & Early 1830's Cochran Percussion Turret Revolver That Is Fresh Out Of An Old New England Estate And Is New to The Market!
