Winchester 1886 Lightweight lever action rifle in .45-70 Government. This rifle has a 22-inch tapered round barrel made with special light weight nickel steel. it has a Walnut forearm & straight grip stock with a hard rubber shotgun buttplate. it also has a Lyman No. 4 hunting white bead front sight and Lyman No. 41 receiver sight. It comes with a Cody Firearms Museum letter dated July 16, 2008, stating the following information: "Rifle / 45/70 caliber / Barrel Length: 22 inches / Barrel Shape: Round / Plain trigger / Sights: Lyman hunting front; Flat top rear / 1/2 magazine; 4 cartridge / Received in warehouse on October 13, 1897 / Shipped from warehouse on October 14, 1897, order number 19538". .45-70 Government
