Description:
This is a wonderfully made classic English 12 Gauge Box Lock Ejector Gun, as produced by WR Pape, who were located at Newcastle upon Tyne, England...The 30" barrels are choked cylinder and full. 2 1/2" chambers with excellent bores...14 3/4" length of pull over solid pad and spacer. Drops are 1 1/2 and 2 3/8"...Weights just 6 1/2 pounds...Barrels have been reblacked, with wood cleaned and rubbed. Nice tight action, with hidden top cross bolt and double under lugs...Overall very fine shooting and collecting condition...Some refer to Pape as the "Purdey of the North", due to the high quality of the firearms produced by his shop...At just six and a half pounds, with 30" tubes, this 12 bore gun is a joy to carry in the field...And its superb balance, fit and finish is what one expects from a high end English gun maker...
