Description:
Very Fine Original Chief Grade Native American Indian Trade Flintlock Rifle dated back to the late1700's and early 1800's. Chief's grade qualities- brass trigger gards and inlays, deluxe maple tiger wood stock. Comes with the original flint. Heavy octagonal barrel marked "London" with Birmingham proof marks.The prominent chief's head Medallion can be seen at the top of the wooden butt stock- this mark is often found on quality Chief's grade Trade Rifles. The lock is marked with ornate engravings, fox in circle mark is faint on lock plate, very clear Boar's head in a circle with hunting horn towards the rear. Imprinted initials "JS" on butt stock. No cracks found on wood stokck.
