Description: Thank you for looking at this interesting Merwin & Bray Cup Fire Revolver. This Civil War era revolver accepts .30cal Cup Fire cartridges and it's 3.5" octagonal barrel has a bore diameter of .28 as well as a rollmark on top which reads "MERWIN & BRAY FIREARMS CO. N.Y.". Grips are in fair shape and the "gouge" pictured is more pronounced in the photos than in person. This revolver was designed to accept .30cal diameter cartridges loaded from the front of the cylinder in to it's 5 chambers. Overall finish is worn but presents with an aesthetically appealing patina. Patent rollmarks on the cylinder are legible and read "JULY 12 1859" and "JULY 21 1863".
