Description:
REMINGTON ARMS Model 1100 12 Gauge Shotgun SEMI-AUTOMATIC c1970s Full Choke

Popular Bird, Skeet, and Trap Shotgun

Here we present a modern Remington Model 1100 Semi-Automatic Shotgun, manufactured in March 1976 in Ilion, New York. The original version of the Remington Model 1100 shotgun came out only in 12 gauge in 1963, followed by the 16 gauge and 20 gauge in 1964, and finally the 410 gauge in 1969. Designed by Wayne Leek and Robert Kelley, the Remington Model 1100 was introduced as a successor to the Model 58 and Model 878 shotguns. The Model 58 had supplanted the recoil operated Model 11-48, which retained the long recoil action of John Browning's original design, present in the Model 11 and the Browning Auto-5. Upon its introduction in 1963, the Model 1100 replaced the Model 58 and Model 878, and later replaced the Model 11-48 as well.

The model 1100 holds the record for the most shells fired out of a semi-automatic shotgun without malfunction or cleaning, set in 1978 with a record of over 24,000 rounds fired. With a title like that, what is not to love about Remington's Model 1100? This may explain why it has remained popular among bird hunters, skeet shooters, and trap Shooters since its introduction in 1963 through today.
