Description:
   ***   SOLD   ***   A very nice Dickson Round Action Ejector with crisp engraving, highly figured 29” nitro Damascus barrels, highly figured French walnut stock and forearm, and leather case with maker’s label. It was reproofed in London in 2001 for 2-3/4” chambers. Serial number 4513 made in 1892 with patent use number 399. No.1 of a pair. Weighs 6lb 5oz. A very nice condition Dickson round action.   ***   The 29” highly figured nitro Damascus barrels were reproofed for 2-3/4” shotshells in London in 2001. They are topped by a raised solid concave gamestyle rib. It is inscribed “John Dickson & Son. 63 Princes Street. Edinburgh”. The right barrel is bored 0.739 with a constriction of 0.005 for Light Improved Cylinder choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.023. The left barrel is bored 0.731 and has a constriction of 0.017 for Light Modified choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.025.   ***   The straight hand stock and splinter forearm are crafted from very highly figured French walnut. It has a highly figured 1/2” wooden butt plate with a checkered butt. The flat top checkering is crisp. The finish is in good condition but there are a few minor handling marks. Stock dimensions are 14-3/4” by 1-5/8” by 2-1/2”. Cast off for the righthand shot.   ***   Presented in its toe-in leather case with maker’s label featuring the desirable panoramic view of Edinburgh this is a very collectable and shootable Dickson Round Action. Excellent condition, nitro Damascus barrels, highly figured French walnut, sharp engraving and handles like a dream.
