ZIEGLER Half-Stock .42 Caliber Percussion American LONG RIFLE HUNTING/HOMESTEAD Long Rifle w/DOUBLE SET TRIGGERS Here we present an antique H.D. Ziegler Half Stock Percussion Long Rifle, made circa 1858 to 1865 in Portsmouth, Ohio, during the years that Ziegler was active. This rifle is rather trim and handy for the genre. Its octagonal barrel is in .41 caliber, large enough to take small to medium sized game or to defend the homestead against unwanted aggression. Rifle manufacture in the mid-to-late 19th Century was rapidly changing over from thousands of craftsmen all over the United States and on the Frontier making and selling their wares, to the large factories with standardized assembly lines and modern manufacturing techniques. Many makers’ names of the so-called Kentucky long rifles have been lost over time. This rifle features double set triggers that provide an extremely light and crisp break. The barrel is 37-5/8 inches long and octagonal with a rifled .41 caliber bore. Fantastic grain in this half-stock with brass hardware. The overall condition is very good+. Original finish and patina. The action is excellent. The bore is in great shape for age with sharp rifling. The stock is handsome and solid. A great long rifle from Ohio during the Civil War period! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 37-5/8 inches. Caliber: .41 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE.
