I purchased this 45-70 Trapdoor Carbine a number of years ago for a number of reasons: #1 it has a star suffix after the serial number #2 it retains a full cartouche #3 IT IS ABSOLUTELY UNTOUCHED ,THE STOCK HAS NOT BEEN SANDED, THE METAL HAS NOT BEEN TOUCHED BY STEEL WOOL OR HEAVEN FORBID A BUFFING WHILE AND THE BORE HAS SOME PITS BUT REMAINS SHOOTABLE AND HAS NOT BEEN LAPPED OVERSIZED DATED 1881 this gun is in the condition it was when retired from active duty,just the way we like to find them .
