On Hold Sale Pending. US Model 1862 Springfield Civil War era musket dated 1862. The full 3 band walnut stock is in good condition showing normal wear. The 40 inch barrel has both front and rear sights and shows no visible rifling and is approximately 60-62 caliber. Most metal parts have a brown patina but the barrel appears to have been cleaned to a grey color. The functioning lock is marked US Springfield with the American eagle and dated 1862. There are also proof marks on the barrel at the breach. The musket appears complete with sling swivels and ramrod. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
