Description:
Springfield Model 1888 Trapdoor Single Shot chambered in 45-70 Government. This rifle features a 32 5/8-inch barrel with pinned blade front sight and Buffington gradated leaf rear sight. Case colored low arch 1873 dated replacement breech block. Springfield marked lock. 2 Band walnut stock with ramrod bayonet. Left side of stock has a sharp cartouche with 1891 date. Toe line of stock has "P" firing proof and "J" inspector's mark. This rifle is in very fine condition as the barrel maintains over 90 percent blue and the receiver, lock and trigger guard retain 70% blue. .45-70 Government
