Description:
One-of-a-kind Browning "Exhibition" .222 Remington bolt action rifle.
Built on a Sako action in 1975 this 22" pencil barrel rifle ( with sights ) is embellished with gold inlays and promently signed by Jose Baerten. There are highly detailed gold fox inlaid on both sides of the forward receiver ring, four gold prairie dogs on the floorplate and a lynx or bobcat head on the trigger guard.
All are surrounded with baroque gold wire vines and tendrils which extend onto the receiver rings and the barrel. Barrel markings of caliber, manufacturer and address are also inlaid in gold.
Stocked in a superb piece of walnut intricately relief carved, checkered and finished in an egg-shell luster with a Browning butt plate.
An incredible rifle from Browning, apparently unfired, which might well be the epitome of an advanced Browning collection.
