Description:
General Specs: Ruger New Model Single Six, 1989, .22WMR/LR, 39oz, 6 1/2"
Serial Number: 262-08354

In the 1950 the advent of the consumer television and the explosion of Western themed weekly adventures created the perfect environment for an up-and-coming firearms designer to make his mark. Bill Ruger saw how popular the TV and film westerns was becoming and decide to apply his talents to designing a new six shooter to capitalize on the cowboy trend. Ruger was to introduce the Single Six, and later the New Model Single Six. The revolvers became a huge success, one that continues to this day. This example of the New Model Single Six was manufactured in 1989 and is serial numbered 262-08354. It is packaged with dual interchangeable cylinders, .22 caliber and .22 WMR. The gun is manufactured in stainless steel and is- like most Rugers- almost indestructible in normal use. This gun shows light use, there are some light handling marks on the frame, the walnut grips are in excellent condition. The gun has a 6 ½” barrel with a mirror bore, partridge front sight and a click adjustable square notch rear sight. The New Model designation appeared in 1973 and means that this model includes Ruger's transfer bar mechanism for increased safety allowing the revolver to be safely loaded with six cartridges, the gun will only fire when the trigger is pulled fully to the rear. The Ruger New Model Single Six makes an outstanding revolver for the beginner, an excellent training gun, economical, and more importantly, just fun to shoot! Thank you for looking.
