Sauer I've offered in recent times, this 20ga Model 18ga "Masterpiece Grade" is a stunner. Proved in 1925, the gun has 28" Krupp Fluid "Special Gun" Fluid steel barrels. Matted raised top rib. Checkered splinter forend with fully engraved latch release and inlaid horn tip. Fully engraved action with fantastic carved breech fences. Action with Greener Crossbolt and gold inlaid pheasants on right side in deep relief panel, large gold pointer on left flushing a gold inlaid quail. Bottom of action is near full coverage scroll engraved as seen in the photos. Gold inlaid "SAFE" in front of carved safety button. Stocked in fine straight grained European Walnut and checkered in point pattern through the wrist and terminates with a modern Olde English type pad. The toe line has a nicely inlaid unengraved gold oval. Trigger guard with gold inlaid initials in relief panel at bow and scroll engraved throughout. All numbers matching. Overall, the gun remains in excellent original condition. The barrels are excellent and retain nearly all of an older restored rust blue. There is some spotting on the top rib towards the muzzles. The action retains a great amount of its original case color - hard to determine a percentage but certainly more than 60%. The stocks are sound and retain most of what appears to be their original finish with some finish added for preservation. Checkering is fine. Action is tight, on face, and ejectors work well. Bores are bright and shiny. This is an extremely fine high grade Sauer small bore obviously built for the American Market during the roaring 20's. The gun has been used but well taken care of and it is a treat in the hands and balances perfectly. These guns are impossible to source. This fine Sauer is priced at $24950 plus shipping to your FFL.
