PUMP SHOTGUN, CA. 1944. Serial number "974XXX" and matching. "Full" choked stamped barrel probably was 30" to begin with, now has High Standard "Power-Pac" compensator with barrel extending to 26 3/4" overall. Period professional reblue overall probably done at same time as compensator installation and most defininately done by San Antonio Arsenal (stamped "SAA-F" on pistol grip cap) as this shotgun was in the local officer's club trap/skeet range club house as owner was stationed there for many years after serving his country from Hickham Field onward(have GI's name). This gun was probably surplused out when no longer required to be in stock. Often these former aerial gunnery training weapons were turned into military base club guns for pilots to keep in practice when not flying and for use by officer's as well. Flaming bomb next to "U.S." on right side of receiver. Original wood with previously mentioned "SAA-F" crisply struck(San Antonio Arsenal) refurb stamp, "Crossed cannons" and "WB" stamp crisp as well on left of buttstock. Period Pachmayr vent rib pad still pliable installed same time as refurb/ skeet upgrade. Same professional matching reblue on receiver excellent. Perfect working order and locks up nice a tight. Straight out of family with information on officer who owned it and was stationed in San Antonio at time of purchase/use. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Shotgun Gauge: 12 Gauge |
