Have excellent + ratings from another gun sales site. Description: Original collector quality, early Remington 1911A1 pistol with Dulith finish. C&R eligible. Serial # 934,278 with the No prefix. (Approx. Feb., 1943 manufactured date). This pistol has the Du-lite finish with some blued parts. I believe this pistol to be original as issued. Markings and serial numbers were stamped before bluing and will not have bright sides on the stampings. At this early date of manufacturing, Remington was using parts from other suppliers. This pistol has the following parts as supplied by Colt; slide stop and safety lock. The mainspring housing is the early finely checkered Remington type. The High Standard barrel is marked on the left of the lug with a P and HS on the right. Bore is mirror with no striation marks from firing. Feed ramp is bright, not polished. Slide is correct type 2 with markings 1 3/8” long and ending in N.Y. U.S.A. Type 2 slides started at about this serial number range. Before that, New York was spelled out. Recoil spring plug is blued, the guide parkerized with blunt points. Remington narrow hammer. Blued checkered slide stop (Colt). Blued safety checkered on top and bottom with no undercut (Colt). Front sight has sloped serrated ramp on rear. Rounded cut on front of rear sight with squared aperture. Keyes grips with re-enforcing rings around screws. No hits, bangs or smashed checkering. Parkerizing on pistol is about 98%. Even the edges are in nice condition. There is some light wear on the top of the barrel and on other moving parts. There is an 1/8” abraision spot on the outside corner of the trigger guard plus some wear thinning areas on the frame bottom in front of the guard, probably from holstering. Photo lighting exaggerates them but in room light they are much less noticeable. Du-lite was very susceptible to wear which is why the military went to Parkerizing late in 1943. The heat treated area on the end of the slide is difficult to see due to the darker heat treating being about the same color as the Dulith finish. There is no hardening above the slide stop. The slide stop area was not included in heat treating until sometime after April 1943. Blued checkered magazine release. Magazine is Little manufacturer with L on the toe, spot welded plate with solid seam on the back. There is a very slight swell below the right receiver rail from over aggressive stamping “Model 1911A1” but it does not affect the functioning of the pistol at all and is very minor. An excellent early Remington with only slight handling wear. Per postal regulations, pistol must mail to an FFL-01 by my FFL-01. Shipping/Insur. $50 to anywhere in continental US.
