Antique Remington.58 .58 Centerfire Rolling Block Conversion of a 61 Springfield civil war musket. During the civil war gunsmith Leonard Geiger designed the basic Rolling Block action. Later E. Remington took over Geigers patent and started manufacturing Rifles. These were made circa 1866 from left over Springfield civ war muskets. The full 3 band 2 piece walnut stock shows much use, dents dings and a few hairline cracks. The barrel and other metal parts have been cleaned back to bright with scattered pitting. The bore has good rifling. The scarce rifle appears complete with sling swivels and ramrod and seems to function fine. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
