Have excellent + ratings from another gun sales site. Description: Remington Civil War Revolver. Serial # 72,988 made around about June1864. .44 caliber. Rare Masonic emblem is stamped under left grip. The second most popular revolver of the Civil War. This pistol bore is nice and shiny with a few scattered pits. About 30% original blue remains on each side, mostly on the cylinder and frame. The barrel and loading lever have spotty bluing with a silvery patina on the balance. No rust or pitting. There is a clear and distinct BH cartouche on the left grip which has a small old chip out of the bottom. All nipples are present and in good condition. Cylinder walls are nice and smooth. Inspector initial L is present on bottom of both original grips, left side of barrel and trigger housing. Inspector S on right side of barrel, right side of receiver in front of cylinder, rear of cylinder and on barrel in front of loading lever. Inspector R on front of cylinder and in line with the rear S. An R is also on left front of loading lever. W is stamped on the left of the receiver in line with the hammer. Screws are in good shape with the one on the trigger housing slightly burred but still usable. The hammer impact point is slightly burred. The pistol has good mechanics with nice tight lock up. There is a distinct click when the cylinder is rotated. A unique and rare Masonic emblem is stamped on the frame inside the left grip. Masons were often treated more fairly on both sides of the conflict in consideration of their common brotherhood and makes this revolver very unique. A used but well maintained example of one of the most popular civil war revolvers. Antique so can be shipped directly to buyer.by priority mail for $25.
