Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “—–MANUFACTURED BY THE—– / U. S. REPEATING ARMS CO., NEW HAVEN, CT. USA”. The left shoulder of the barrel “–WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL– / ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER” and a Winchester proof. The upper tang is marked “MODEL 1894 / –WINCHESTER–”. The top rear of the barrel is marked “30 W.C.F.”. The right shoulder of the barrel is marked “1894-1994”. The bottom of the receiver is marked with the serial number. The sides of the receiver have decorative border and scroll engraving and show game scenes. The grip cap is marked “WINCHESTER / 1894-1994”.
