Description:
A truly iconic, wonderful revolver…The S&W model 27, .357 magnum built on the large “N” frame with an "S" prefix serial number.
The model 27 was the production model numbered version of the first S&W .357 magnum, the Registered Magnum. The 27-2 versions incorporated the latest production changes and was the last numbered model to have a recessed cylinder and pinned barrel. (Seemingly all susequent changes were made to decrease the manufacturing cost of the revolver!)
Furthermore the "S" prefix on the serial number was changed at the end of 1968 with this 27-2 being made in June of 1968. That makes this 27-2 one of the last "S" prefix 27's made.
All in all 27-2's are very desirable and collectible 27’s.

This gun is mechanically perfect and cosmetically nearly perfect with 98%+ overall finishes. It is in the original blue 2-piece box with all paperwork and tools.
