Have excellent + ratings from another gun sales site. Description: Springfield WW11 M1 Garand. Serial # 456,211. So called “Pearl Harbor Garand”. Cal. 30-06. The rifle parts are all correct for the date. The stock is all correct with the large ordnance wheel cartouche but it has a Plain P proofing stamp rather than the usual serifed one. The plain P could be a mistake, a production correction or for some other reason. I don’t know. I’ve owned it for 23 years. British lend lease stamping on top of barrel about 6” from muzzle. No rebuild markings. TE=1.5, ME=.5 Barrel is upside down S-A-12-41 (reason for the Pearl Harbor). Bore is bright and shiny. Breech is shiny as well. No chrome around gas cylinder hole. Rounded gas cylinder lock with single slot gas cylinder plug. Narrow base gas cylinder is marked C on flat top of ring with tapered front of bayonet lug. No punch mark on the bayonet lug. Also has an “A” on the flat behind the stacking swivel. Front sight has sight seal. Uncut curved op rod marked D35382 3 SA. Receiver marked D28291- 14 SA with a heat lot number B6. Bolt marked D28287-2SA with heat lot RE5A. Type 1 flush nut rear sight with 6-40 short pinion. Windage knob is knurled. Elevation knob is checkered. No maker markings. Closed arrow heads on windage and elevation knob indicating SA. Follower is marked 8. Bullet guide is milled with no indents on sides at the angle. Short fork rod with serrations. Rounded end clip release. Trigger housing is stamped D28290-5-SA. Milled trigger guard with safety marked C46015-6SA. Hammer is C46008-2-SA. Hammer plunger and housing “in the white”. Stock has SA/GHS and large ordnance wheel cartouche. Stock is short channel with number 79 in channel. Partial circled P firing proof (no serifs) on front of wrist. No tiny ordnance wheel on bottom of wrist. Clip release slot is tapered. No hole sling swivel. At the left rear of the receiver cut, there appears to be a line radiating outwards from just behind the clip release cut but I think it is just the grain of the walnut. It does not show or continue on the outside or inside of the stock. (see picture). Stock has some dents and dings from use and handling. Wood has that early matching reddish cast. Rear guard band has groove. Front band is arched. WW11 butt plate with square spacer. No documentation. C&R eligible. Sales limited to states where legal. I have a Curio and Relic FFL-03 and can ship to another 03 or to any FFL-01 dealer. No sales to California. Shipping is $50. Bank or certified check or money orders only. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
