US L. POMEROY Model 1816 69 Caliber contract musket formerly flintlock converted in the 1850's dated 1822. The total length is 57 inches with a 41.5" smooth bore approximately 69 caliber barrel. The Full 3 band walnut stock shows average wear for a 200 year old musket with a chip repaired with small nails behind the hammer and one cartouche on the left flat. The functioning lock is marked L. POMEROY US 1822 with the American Eagle. The But plate is marked US. All metal parts have a dark brown patina with some pitting near the nipple.
