Excellent Colt Model 1849 Pocket Revolver, serial # 125,612, First type. All matching including wedge. 1856 manufacture date. Caliber .31, barrel is 5”. Five shot. 95+% condition. Serial range 12,000 to 340,000. Made 1850-1873. This revolver was very popular during the civil War due to its’ small size and .31 caliber bullet. Officers, soldiers and civilians alike purchased them with private funds, often as a back up revolver. The bore has shine with some minor erosion from firing.. Some slight surface roughness in the grooves. The bluing has faded to a smooth silvery finish. The case hardening on the receiver is still visible on both sides. The brass grip frame is silver plated and wearing thin on the bottom of the grips. Mechanicals are excellent. Distinct clicks on half and full cock. Free cylinder spin on half cock and tight lock up on full cock. Stagecoach scene very distinct on the cylinder. Lacquered grips are near perfect. Shipping $25 via priority mail to buyer address..
