Description:
Smith & Wesson Model #2, Old Army, Revolver.  Approximately 95% finish.  Caliber .32 rim fire long.  Serial # 35,144.  Civil War revolver issued 1 May 1865.  6” octagon barrel.  77,155 made in years from 1861 to 1874.  Some side to side looseness in barrel/receiver lock up and cylinder.  I am sure it could be tightened up but not in my skill set and I don’t want to screw it up.  Bore is generally bright with some slight residual pitting.  Revolver has a high degree of finish.  I would rate overall finish at about 95% with some areas aging to plum or brown.  Very, very slight surface pitting in a few spots such as on side plates, just in front of cylinder (from firing) and back strap of grip. See pictures. Right wooden grip has matching serial number on inside.  # 51 assembler number stamped on left inside bottom of grip metal frame, on cylinder and on front of barrel assembly (must open up to see).  Historic usage after Civil War.  Custer owned a pair and Wild Bill Hickok was wearing one the day he was killed in August, 1874.  One of the nicer versions of this revolver I have seen ranking in the top 10%.  Antique, no license required. Shipping charge will be by priority mail to buyer Zip code. Payment by bank/certified check or money orders.  Personal check OK but will hold shipment until bank clearance is made.
