Up for sale is a used Winchester 1894 Rifle (.25-35 W.C.F.). This item has a 26” tapered octagon barrel and wood stocks. The bore looks a little dark, it does still have a little shine to it and the rifling can still be seen. Inspection with a bore scope shows light to moderate pitting, the lands and grooves are still distinct. The blueing on the barrel shows light scratches and wear in the finish, the blueing on the magazine tube shows some light scratches. The finish on the receiver and lever are pretty much non-existent and shows light scratches as well as some freckling and very light pitting. The top tang had been repaired at some point and evidence of this can be seen. The fore-end shows a few cracks in the wood as can be seen in the pictures. The butt stock shows a chip in the wood on the top left of the tang as well as in front of the butt plate on top. The butt plate may have been replaced as it is a bit larger around the edges of the wood. The butt stock shows dings and scratches and a crack is present on the right side behind the receiver, there is also a couple of smaller cracks at the toe of the stock.. The action is still tight and has a positive lockup. For a firearm that is 124 years old, this is in really good shape. D.O.M. is 1898.
