Scarce Marlin Model 39D 22 caliber rifle, shoots short, long and long rifle rimfire cartridges, 20" round barrel with full magazine and tubular loading system, take down frame, blued finish, open sights, plain walnut stocks, plain trigger, pistol grip with shotgun butt, factory white line spacers and classic Marlin "Bullseye" in butt stock, carbine style fore arm, factory drilled and tapped for several varieties of peep sights and scope mounts. These were made from 1971 to 1973 only. This specimen was made in 1971, bearing serial number 71 67089.
Rifle retains 95% bright original blue with light flecking throughout. Factory front and rear sights remain intact, and the "JM" marked hammer extension is installed for use with a scope. The right side of the barrel is marked "JM" just ahead of the receiver. Stocks exhibit light usage marks but no abuse, no extra holes, no splits or cracks, still tight and proud. Bore is bright and shiny, a 9.75 of 10. Action is butter-smooth with a properly working half cock safety. A must-have variation for the Marlin firearm collector.
