About Us: I am a retiree with a collection of nice firearms accumulated over a period of 15-20 years. Increasingly, I am aware that I can't take them with me, so have decided to sell them over the coming months. My description of each weapon will be as accurate as I can make it, and I will attempt to show any defects in photos. I will not sell a firearm that is functionally defective in any way. If you have questions, I look forward to your call or email.

Description:
This is an unusually nice rifle with pre-war quality workmanship. It was manufactured at the Tula armoury, which produced finer rifle that those produced at the Izhevsk Armory. The serial numbers include Russian Cyrillic lettering except for the bolt that has the matching numbers without the Cyrillic lettering.  As a rule of thumb, stocks with screw on escutcheons are pre-war. During the war escutcheons were either eliminated or consisted of a single piece of flat metal that was bent down over the edge of the opening for the sling. After the war escutcheons were pressed in by machine. This stock has screw on escutcheons which is not often seen these days. The scope mount serial number is force matched and it is the preferred version that allows for vertical adjustment of the scope. The scope I believe is a good quality reproduction from Ukraine, probably made in Kyiv. Included in this sale are the but stock bumper and the cheek rest which puts the shooter at a comfortable height to use the scope. The original but plate is included, of course, along with the assessory/cleaning kit and a bayonet. The tipical trigger pull for Mosin-Nagant rifles is a long single stage which breaks at roughly 6.5 pounds. The trigger pull on this rifle is short and breaks at a consistent 4.25 pounds. This significantly improves accuracy in shooting. The bore is shiny with good rifling. This rifle has not been fired in fifteen years and has been kept in a climate controlled gun room. The Russians originally applied a tinted shellac finish to these rifles which was not only ugly, but also not very protective. The tint was necessary because most stocks were made of White Birch, so for uniformity the tint was added to the shellac to create a dark redish brown color. I have removed the original shellac and stained the white wood stock with a combination of water and oil based stains to match the original color. I then hand rubed the stock with a coat or two of highly protective Hope's 100% pure tung oil.

The new owner pays $90.00 for insured 4 day ground shipping anywhere in the lower 48. For added protection, shipping will include a hard plastic carrying case. FFL is required.
