KORTH “Sport” 6” cal .357 Revolver

Excellent, original Willi KORTH (Ratzeburg) Model "SPORT" cal .357, 6" barrel Revolver

Description:
Excellent, early mfg (1966 in original Ratzeburg factory) WILLI KORTH Model "SPORT" revolver.  Cal .357, 6" barrel, adjustable rear sight, Walnut grip with crisp checkering. High polish deep blue finish. All original, in top condition.  The quality of this revolver is legendary and immaculate. Considered the World's Best Revolver. Only 334 revolvers with 6" barrels of the 21xxx Series were ever made.  Highest quality, mostly handmade with unsurpassed workmanship, and a pleasure to shoot - even in competition. Very desirable and hard to find these days.

NOTE: Willi Korth’s revolvers were benchmade by five gunsmiths at the rate averaging about 120 pieces a year. Except for their wooden grips, three screws, and two hex socket action screws, outsourced to specialty outside suppliers, every part was made in house. In contrast to the mass production standards, Korth revolver parts were neither cast nor milled. They were ground in the course of hard fitting from steel forgings that boasted a tensile strength of 1,700 psi. Each revolver required 70 man-hours that comprised 600 distinct operations. Their major components were surface hardened up to 60 HRC on the Rockwell hardness scale. In a feature that persisted throughout the production of Ratzeburg Korth revolvers, the cylinder chambers were preened and polished by a hardened steel ball pressed repeatedly back and forth. This leads to a glassy smooth surface and makes extraction and cleaning a breeze. (Quoted from “The Revolvers of Willi Korth” by lavatus prodeo)
