Description:
With a very earlt serial #8094,possibly a sharon or Geen Mountain barrel, of 50 caliber, 21” octagon barrel with a bright very good bore with a few small pits or tool marks 6” from the muzzle. The blued and anodized surfaces retain about 98% original finish, the case hardened lock plate showing some oxidation staining at the front. The walnut stock rates excellent with attractive straight grain figure throughout displaying a few minor handling marks with a small chip at the tang. The rifle features a hardwood ramrod, 1:48” twist, new nipple, and factory adjustable open sights. A handy short carbine perfect for heavy cover, or brush gun.
The Pennsylvania Hunter was designed by Thompson Center with a 1 in 48” twist barrel optimized to shoot patched round balls to comply with some states muzzleloading hunting regulations. The rifle features an oversized triggerguard, original wooden ramrod with attractive straight grain figure throughout the stock. A like new Pennsylvania Hunter.
