This is a 1950s era ( serial number 564809 ) Ithaca Model 37 Featherlite, 12 GA. Trench Shotgun. Not Military, but more likely modified for Law Enforcement or Prison use. I understand that many returning WWII GIs went into law enforcement , many of whom learned to appreciate the effectiveness of the American Trench Shotgun during the War. The bayonet/ heat shield assembly was still available from Ithaca ( all the way thru the Vietnam War ) and any agency armor could install it. The shotgun is in very good condition. The wood is solid, and the finish is in very good shape as well. The gun functions well and does retain the " Slam Fire " feature that the American GIs were famous for mastering... Asking $1895.
