Description:
Handsome Charles Boswell boxlock ejector 12 bore with 28" damascus barrels choked skeet and skeet. This solid old boxlock retains 60% case colors and 80% brown barrels with a very fine damacus pattern and good bores. The stock shows minor dings and handling marks over what might be an added finish and the checkering exhibits some soiling and light wear. The trigger guard, bottom floor plate, and the lever all show some fading  blue. The beautiful engraving exhibits crisp tight scroll with shaded scroll work around the fences, and a bouquet of roses on the front of the floor plate. LOP is 14 1/8" over a solid pad, DAC is 1 5/8" and DAH is 2 1/4". The forcing cones have been lengthened so it is out of proof. However, the chamber walls are .095" plus  and the barrel walls are .025" and .027" respectively. Gun has been used sporadically with standard target and field loads and has functioned perfectly although it exhibits ever-so-slight looseness. Lever is still slightly to the right. At a weight of 6 1/2 lbs. this is a a super close working bird gun and priced right. Circa 1899
