Description:
VERY SCARCE World War II German STEYR “660” Code 1940 Dated Model K98 Rifle

Interesting Polish/Austrian WW2 MAUSER Rifle Variant!

Here we present a Third Reich German Steyr “660” Code 1940 Date K98 Mauser Rifle, manufactured in 1940. These 660 code rifles are very scarce as the code changed shortly after production began. Parts came both from Steyr as well as the captured Polish Radom plant. These were very well-made arms that saw use throughout the war for the Wehrmacht.

Three WaffenAmts are visible on the right side of the stock (behind the stock ring), four on the receiver ring on the right side, as well as the floor plate and rear sight, front sight, and bayonet lug. There is a faint “GPC W HURLEY NY” import marking on the barrel.

The overall condition is very good. The action is strong. The bore is semi-bright and in good shape. The stock is solid. The stock, butt plate, barrel, receiver, bolt release, rear sight assembly, magazine well, nose cap, and the rear barrel band with the sling bar numbers match: 6055 K. However, there are some other mixed numbers (ie. the bolt assembly, front barrel band, magazine floor plate). This example includes a leather sling. A scarce German rifle for your collection!

This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.

Barrel is 23-3/4 inches.

Caliber: 7.92mm Mauser

Overall condition as seen in photos.
