Description:
This Colt DA 1878 Frontier Six Shooter is in decent condition with heavy holster wear. The rifling is in very good condition with some light frosting, the lockup is still good with some play. This firearm also comes with a factory letter from colt giving its date of delivery of 1891 and confirming its caliber. This being quite an odd example of this model in that it is chambered in .44 Colt, a cartridge that by that time was obsolete for almost 20 years. Why it was chambered in that caliber is unknown sadly, but it does mean that today this is a very unusual firearm which would be an excellent addition to any collection of Colt revolvers. .44 Colt
