FRENCH ST. ETIENNE MODEL 1816 FLINTLOCK MUSKET. 60” o/a with 44” smoothbore .69 cal. barrel. All original except the ramrod and top jaw screw and screw which are old replacements. Original flint and not a reconversion. Very good plus with excellent metal with very crisp edges and nice soft grey patina. Excellent and profuse French Ordnance proofs. Lock stamped in script “ST. ETIENNE/MANUFRE ROYALE”. Barrel tang faintly stamped “M1816”. Stock fine plus with inspection stamps on side of butt and at the heal in front of the butt plate tang. Working order and excellent bore.
