Hammerless Sidelocks - This lovely Purdey is in top notch condition having been recently rejoined and detailed by legendary gunsmith Reto Buehler. Reto\'s middle name is "fine detail" and these guns beyond justify this praise. Pre 1899 means we can ship direct.
Our Purdey letter tells us this London BEST shotgun was completed in December of 1885 for Surgeon Major G.F. Pollock. The letter also states that Purdey fitted new barrels to this gun, 12316, in the late 1940\'s. These are the barrels that are fitted to the gun now and they are in excellent condition. Beautiful bright clean bores with long forcing cones
This shotgun is in outstanding condition, tight on face, and field ready. There is about 30% case color remaining and the blacking on the barrels is in the 98% or better. All engraving, including the name and address on the rib is as crisp as the day it was cut.
